PTFE zone tape has custom sized strips of adhesive on the edges, leaving a free-adhesive zone in the center. The tape is made from woven fiberglass substrates impregnated with PTFE, then process proprietary heat resistant adhesive system along the edge, the non-adhesive center of the tape tolerate temperature ranging from -73-260℃/-100-500℉and the adhesive edge withstand heat between -73-170℃/-100-338℉. Scifluo offers two types of PTFE zone tape, difference is on the adhesive part. Normally adhesive thickness is 0.05mm, we also provide zone tape with thicker adhesive to 0.20mm.

PTFE zone tape is specialized for impulse sealing and heat sealing equipment that uses a flexible nichrome ribbon wire heating element. Non adhesive zone in the center avoids problem of adhesive sticking to heating element or silicone rubber, promotes maximum heat transfer for optimized heat sealing system performance. The adhesive strips on the edges provides easy addition to heat element and eliminates the need for mechanical fastening. PTFE coating offers non-stick coating and quick release for the heat sealing platen, the sealing material will quickly be released from sealing bar without any damaged parts.
